Miro Svolik - Transformations of reality and dimension
Miro Svolik, a founding member of the Slovak New Wave and a master at transforming hills into fish and landscapes into human bodies.
As a student of the FAMU Academy in Prague in the 80’s he created his fantastic stagings of human bodies shot from the roof of multi-storey buildings giving birth to fantastic illusions that blur the division between reality and dream.
View Miro’s work online at the 1930’s gallery and at the Czech + Slovak Stage Photography gallery.
If you like Miro’s imagination you might also enjoy the more recent and light-hearted series of Jan Von Holleben’s Dreams of Flying using children as her subjects as well as Australian photographer Narelle Autio’s Not of this Earth series.
