About
I discovered photography for the first time in my life at forty and since then it has helped me grow in ways I would never have thought possible. Photography has introduced me to the environment, wildlife, art, and a plethora of interesting people from all over the world. Who’d have thought that picking-up a simple tool could teach me so much about life, people and this planet — I’m amazed.
In my past I have suffered from chronic GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) having bought and sold eight cameras in five years including a Fuji S2 Pro, Olympus OM2n, Fujica G690 6×9, Plaubel Veriwide 6×10, Shen Hao 4×5, Contax G2 and Canon EOS 30 and 30D …oh and a Sigma DP1. Thankfully, with the support of my bank manager and family I have waved them them all goodbye to new homes and have settled on one camera …a Nikon D700 and a few pieces of cheap glass
Having spent the last 6 months of 2009 and early 2010 travelling in Thailand, my photographic efforts have focussed largely on travel and family photos. I’m not sure what the rest of 2010 holds for me photographically but I’m looking forward to it.
Please feel free to contact me about image licensing, print purchasing or commissioned photography.
Thanks for dropping by …John.
